You have a completed worksheet now: every task with a project, an impact, maybe a due date or a dependency or a tag. But it still can’t point you toward what to do next. Something has to take all that information and turn it into an answer to the only question you have in the middle of a busy day: what should I be doing now?

In the past, you probably just used your gut to decide. You’d open the list, try to find the most important thing but just pick one of the first things you saw. Or, more likely, you’d just do something that was already on your mind without even opening the list, and mark it complete later. The problem is that the human mind is the wrong tool for this one job.
